Every bride wants to look her best on her wedding day. But for one special patient from Toronto, looking her best meant finally fixing something she had been putting off for years — her smile.

Her biggest concern? A dark, discolored front tooth — the result of a fall she had as a child. Specifically, her upper right central incisor stood out dramatically against the rest of her teeth.

We began with our signature digital smile design process to evaluate everything — tooth size, proportions, lip position, and how her smile moved in real life.

She wanted a natural look — not bulky, overly white teeth — and didn’t want her smile to feel fake or “done.”

We opted for minimal to no-prep porcelain veneers to preserve as much of her natural tooth structure as possible while still delivering the shape, symmetry, and color correction she needed.

Gum Contouring: Lifting the Frame of the Smile

Before placing veneers, we corrected her uneven gum line with gentle contouring. This small but essential procedure made a huge difference — it allowed us to give her smile a more even, lifted, and balanced appearance.

With the gums now framing the teeth correctly, everything else — size, angle, and proportions — started falling into place.

Color Correction & Design: No More Shadows

Matching the color of veneers when dealing with a dark tooth underneath is tricky, since porcelain is translucent by nature. We carefully selected a higher-opacity veneer for that one tooth, so it would blend seamlessly with the others.

We also redesigned her large central incisors, softening their edges to better match her facial features and balance them with her lateral and canine teeth.

When it came time for cementation, we weren’t rushing. During the try-in session, we checked every angle of her smile:
